Thank You for hosting a special Dii "Behind the Scenes" Board Meeting:
| |
Bob Noble, CEO and Founder of Envision Solar, generously hosted Dii's October board
meeting. His presentation was both informative and humorous. As Dii's Advisory Board
Member, Bob introduced his visionary plan to change the global landscape and alternative
energy consumption with his new brand of solar architecture. His AIA award-winning Solar
Grove for Kyocera has spawned large contracts with Westfield's UTC shopping center,
Disneyland and other international venues. Bob also introduced his eCore line of
innovative recyclable products for building materials made from bovine processed fiber,
or in more familiar terms to Bob's kids, cow poo. www.ecorglobal.com |

The Jack in the Box Innovation Center hosted Dii's September Board Meeting. Thank you to Kirby Yao for honoring us with a
presentation and tour of their new facility. Breakfast Jacks warmed
our palettes as Kirby introduced an employee training interface
design created by him and teammates. Highlighted was a recycling
program instituted for each restaurant, a peek at the Innovation kitchen,
tour of the corporate offices and discussion of Duffy Design's launch
of Jack's new brand. |

Dii's August's board meeting was held at Roesling Nakamura Terada Architects
office. Kotaro Nakamura and Ralph Roesling gave Dii attendees a complete tour of their
Gaslamp Quarter offices, a large creative space in an historic brick building. Their
powerpoint presentation that followed included their 2008 San Diego AIA award-winners,
the San Ysidro DMV building and the Nix Nature Center in Orange County gave everyone an
opportunity to see how landscape and architecture melds beautifully via RNT's philosophy
and respect for nature. Another showcase design, the Bardsley residence in Del Mar,
provided sustainable solutions while elegantly maintaining wide ocean and natural
landscape views. |

Dii's July board meeting was held at Rob Wellington Quigley Architects offices
in the Little Italy area of downtown San Diego. The 14 Dii attendees enjoyed Rob's
uniquely designed building and a very special presentation showcasing The New Children's
Museum, this year's San Diego AIA award-winner. In addition to insights on it's
distinctive sustainable design features, Rob also presented his design for San Diego's
Main Library, a $150 million project that he indicated will need $20 million remaining to
begin construction. Thank you, Rob and Kathleen Quigley for hosting this very special
meeting, and congratulations on your 30th anniversary as a very successful innovative
design model of a company. |

Dii's May board meeting was graciously hosted by Jim Gripp, President and CEO of Legal
Arts, a successful pioneer and one of the oldest existing litigation
design and technology firms in the country. Shown here is a collage of the event
showcasing Jim's incredible collection of design and art, great office spaces, and
spectacular downtown views from the 15th floor suite of Legal Arts. |

Dii's April board meeting was generously hosted by Dii Board Member Ron Miriello,
President and CEO of Miriello Grafico, one of San Diego's most
respected graphic design firms. Ron's beautiful newly purchased and re-design of a
cavernous bakery space into his design studio as half of the building featured the work
of Jonathan Seagal who Ron hired as his architect. Particularly impressive was
Ron's impact on this evolving section of Logan Heights. Another 7,700 sq. feet of space
is available for lease. Don't miss this incredible opportunity! It's a perfect spot and a
great deal for a complementary tenant! |
